Patients rarely choose a doctor because of an ad. They search Google, read reviews, check the website and send a WhatsApp message to ask about availability. Medical practice marketing that works takes care of that whole journey.
In Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta there are two audiences: local patients and international ones—residents or visitors—who search in English and compare with what they know back home, just as in Los Cabos, Cancún or Punta Mita.
What matters most
1. Your Google Business Profile
The right category (your specialty, not just “doctor”), hours, location, phone, website and photos of the practice. It is the first thing people see when they search “cardiologist in Puerto Vallarta” or “dentist in Nuevo Vallarta”.
2. Reviews, with replies
Ask for them after the appointment and answer them respectfully, without any patient details. A calm reply to a bad review builds more trust than ten reviews with no reply.
3. A clear website, in English and Spanish
Who you are, your specialty, your professional license number, what you treat, where you are and how to book. For international patients, in well-written English: it is the difference between a call and another search.
4. Booking without friction
A WhatsApp or booking button always in view and someone who answers quickly. Many patients message two or three practices; the first one that answers well usually wins.
5. Content that answers questions
Short articles on what your patients ask before an appointment. They help Google show you and help patients arrive with confidence.
What you cannot do
In Mexico, advertising for health services is regulated by COFEPRIS: no promises of cures or results, name, specialty and license number in view, and an advertising notice or permit where required. Good medical marketing works within those rules, not around them.
